My name is Virginia
My part of London South East
My earliest musical memory of London is seeing Sarah Brightman in the Phantom of the Opera aged 6
The moment I realised I could sing was singing by myself in front of people for the first time at my dance school aged 4: I sang ‘I’m a little teapot’
When I am not at a Snapshot Songs rehearsal you will mostly find me singing, writing and performing my own songs. Working as a Creative Arts Psychotherapist to support children’s creative and emotional expression.
A song that changes the way I’m feeling no matter where I am when it comes on is ‘Cry to Me’ by Solomon Burke
If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life it would be a toss up between Joni Mitchell ‘All I Want’ and Tom Waits ‘Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis’…I think today Tom tips the scale in his favour for his perfect slice of human heart ache.
A typical thing you might hear me say is “It is what it is”
One word I would use to describe the Snapshot Songs choir is “rich”
